Islams offentlige hemmeligheder skal belyses og Islams fremtid i Vesten diskuteres. Det er netop hvad bogen forsøger at bidrage med, i en tid hvor islam helst ikke er til debat.

Der er mange forhindringer for debatten, frygt for trusler, chikane og vold, men også frygt for at blive anklaget for racisme. Dertil kommer den muslimske uærlighed i samtalen om islam.
